Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage plans, also known as Medicare Part C, are offered through private insurance companies approved by Medicare. Medicare Advantage includes both Medicare Part A and Part B (Original Medicare) coverage. Medicare Advantage offers additional benefits such as vision, hearing, dental, and wellness programs. Many Medicare Advantage plans also include Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D). In order to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan, an individual must have both part A and part B coverage.

Medicare Supplement

Medicare Supplement Insurance, also known as Medigap, is offered by private insurance companies and designed to cover members’ out of pocket expenses i.e. copay, coinsurance, and deductibles for individuals enrolled in Original Medicare (Part A and Part B).

Medicare Part D

Medicare Part D is provided and coordinated by Medicare-approved private insurance companies. It provides prescription drug coverage for individuals who have Medicare Part A or Part B or both. Medicare Part D protects against the escalating costs of prescription drugs.
